Mammoth PostgreSQL with LXP

Mammoth PostgreSQL Deluxe "ships with the SQL/XML application server LXP, which provides high level out-of-the-box developer support for website integration with PostgreSQL, XML documents, and other web-based programming solutions (such as PHP, or Perl)." According to Command Prompt, Inc., "Mammoth PostgreSQL...is a robust, reliable, SQL-compatible Object Relational Database Management System (ORDBMS)" designed for "small to medium size businesses." Fully "compatible with the PostgreSQL 7.2.1 release, Mammoth PostgreSQL provides a commercially-supported PostgreSQL distribution for" operating systems including MacOS X. A downloadable demo version is available.

FX.php Updates

Recent (unnumbered) revisions to this free, Open Source PHP class for accessing FileMaker Pro data have added functions FMDBNames(), FMLayoutNames(), and FMPostQuery(); for more information about FX.php, please see previous XMacL weblog entries or the developer's site.

Available in its first public beta, this REALbasic class is "a complete XML parser and router...compatible with RB 2.1 through 4.x."

oXML

This recently announced external component for Omnis Studio (a Rapid Application Development tool) implements support for parsing and extracting data from XML documents as well as creating new XML documents. To be available for Mac OS and other platforms, it uses methods provided by the standard Document Object Model (DOM) API.
